WHAT WE DO
Everyone deserves access to quality nutrition care — regardless of ability, support needs or living situation. The Independence Edge is our NDIS dietetics service, designed to support people with a disability in building the nutrition knowledge and skills that help them live better.
We work with participants, their families, carers and support coordinators to develop practical, achievable goals — and to provide the ongoing support to reach them.
Sessions can be delivered in-clinic, via telehealth, or in your home (within and around the Sutherland Shire) — whatever works best for you.

NDIS Funding
How dietetics fits in your NDIS plan
Dietitian services at The Edge can be funded through your NDIS plan — here's how it typically works.
Capacity building
Improved Health & Wellbeing
Most dietitian support is funded under the Improved Health & Wellbeing support category — aimed at building your skills and independence around food and nutrition.
Capacity building
Improved Daily Living
Assessments and therapy designed to improve daily functioning — including meal planning, food preparation skills and nutrition education.
Core supports
Daily Activities
In some cases, dietitian support may be funded through Core Supports — particularly for participants requiring high-intensity or specialised nutrition intervention.
HOW IT WORKS
It’s simple to get started.
We make the process as straightforward as possible — for participants, families and support coordinators.
1
Get in touch
Contact us directly, or have your support coordinator or plan manager reach out. Tell us a bit about the participant and their goals.
2
Initial appointment
A relaxed, thorough first session to understand goals, health history and what the participant wants to get out of dietitian support.
3
Service agreement
We'll send a service agreement outlining what's included, session rates (in line with the NDIS Price Guide) and how billing works.
4
Ongoing support
Regular sessions (frequency based on your plan and goals) with notes and reports provided to support coordinators as needed.
