OUR STORY
Caity and Dan met at uni, studying Exercise and Sport Science together. From there, their paths went in different directions: Dan went on to study physio, Caity went into nutrition. Dan has spent the last 9 years working in a rehab and high-performance facility, while Caity has spent her time across a mix of professional sport and supporting clients within her own nutrition business for the last 7 years.
Recently married, and now teaming up professionally - Caity and Dan are excited to be working together under one roof to get the best possible outcomes for their clients. It's built on an appreciation that quality health care must be collaborative, with the client at the centre, always.
Caity brings her experience from years in elite sport, working with athletes dealing with fuelling issues, long-term injuries, and managing the demands of performance. She’s seen first-hand what happens when nutrition is reactive instead of strategic. But she’s also seen what happens when it's done well. The right approach to nutrition doesn't just improve performance - it can change the trajectory of someone’s career, recovery, or self-belief.
That’s why they’ve created The Edge. It’s comes from their various experiences including:
Years inside high-performance teams, seeing what actually works (and what doesn't).
Hundreds of athletes, clients, and students, all with different bodies, needs, and challenges.
Their own lived experience navigating demanding study & training schedules, nutrition, injury, health anxiety, and overwhelm - and eventually finding clarity, balance, and strength.
Dan brings the same depth of experience from the rehab and performance side, working hands-on with athletes and active people to manage injuries and build them back stronger.
Together, they built The Edge to close the gap between clinical nutrition & physio and real-world performance, taking what they've learned in sport & rehab and making it accessible, whether you're a pro athlete, a school kid, or someone living with a disability just trying to fuel and perform better.
The Edge is where evidence meets empathy.
Where high performance doesn’t mean hustle at all costs - it means sustainability, strategy, and strength.
It's not just about doing more - it's about doing it smarter.
And that’s the edge we want to help you find.
The people behind your care.

founder & accredited sports dietitian
sports nutrition
Caity Edmonds is an Accredited Sports Dietitian (AccSD), Accredited Practising Dietitian (APD), and the founder of The Edge Health Collective. She's been moving her whole life, from swim squad mornings as a kid to chasing her own training goals as an adult, and she's always loved food (though her palate has come a long way since her veeery long spaghetti bolognese phase as a young teen). Caity’s love for sport & food led her to a Bachelor of Exercise & Sport Science and a Master of Nutrition & Dietetics at The University of Sydney, and it's shaped everything she does since.
Caity works with professional athletes, active adults, and NDIS participants, both one-on-one in private practice and within elite sporting organisations. She's currently the Performance Dietitian for the Cronulla Sharks NRL & NRLW, Sydney Swans AFLW, and the Australian Fencing Federation, along with supporting representative teams such as NSW Blues & Sky Blues Origin Squads. Whatever the goal, she keeps it evidence-based, straightforward, and built around real life, not a nutrition plan you'll dread.
-
Growing up, Caity was always moving. Mornings at swim training, afternoons spent in backyard triathlons or makeshift lounge-room sport courtesy of her older brother (knee cricket, anyone?). She loved being active. But when it came to food, she was picky. Spaghetti bolognese on repeat was her idea of variety.
In her teens, a mix of perfectionism, pressure, and anxiety made health feel confusing and overwhelming. She didn't feel great a lot of the time, and the answers she looked for online only left her more uncertain. Like many young people, she was trying to make sense of her body, energy, and wellbeing with advice that wasn't built for her.
That experience shaped everything she does now.
Over time, she developed a genuine love for food and became fascinated by the science of nutrition, especially how it supports performance, recovery, and resilience. That curiosity led her to study a Bachelor of Exercise & Sport Science, followed by a Master of Nutrition & Dietetics at The University of Sydney.
Since then, she's worked with professional athletes, young performers, NDIS participants, and active adults navigating real-world demands. She founded The Edge to bring the same evidence-based, realistic approach she uses in elite sport to anyone who wants to fuel better, recover faster, and feel more in control of their health.
Those early challenges shaped the perspective she brings today: one that values clarity, consistency, and strategies that genuinely support performance and wellbeing.
Her experience has taught her that:
Health doesn't come from extremes. It comes from consistency.
Nutrition should work for you, not control you.
Wellbeing is built through strategies that fit your life, not someone else's routine.
And when done right, nutrition becomes one of the most powerful tools we have to support energy, performance, and quality of life.
The Edge exists to help others reach that same place: one built on clarity, confidence, and a more sustainable kind of strength.

Caity is a dual-qualified Exercise Scientist and Sports Dietitian who enjoys combining her knowledge of food, nutrition, and exercise to enhance the health, wellbeing, and performance of her clients. She has worked across a wide range of dietetics, which allows her to approach each client in a unique and individualised way.
Within performance nutrition, Caity currently works with athletes of various calibres, from amateur to elite sports organisations, as well as one-on-one within private practice. She has been involved in the delivery of nutrition programs at elite sporting teams across Sydney, including the NRL, NRLW, A-League, Academy Netball, and AFL.
These roles currently include Performance Dietitian for the Cronulla Sharks NRL & NRLW, Sydney Swans AFLW, and the Australian Fencing Federation.
Caity is also passionate about supporting the next generation of dietitians. As a Casual Academic within the Nutrition & Dietetics program at the University of Sydney, she has the privilege of sharing her knowledge and approach with student dietitians, helping teach the importance of a compassionate approach to nutrition support.

physiotherapy
Daniel Cooper is our physiotherapist at The Edge Health Collective. He spent seven years as lead Physiotherapist at a high-performance rehab centre, managing hundreds of post-surgical cases and ACL reconstructions, both operative and non-operative, alongside sporting injuries of every kind.
Having ruptured his own Achilles twice, Daniel understands first-hand what a long rehab journey demands, and brings that perspective to every client he treats.
His approach is movement-based and solutions-focused: hands-on manual therapy combined with exercise-based treatment, with a focus on getting clients back to their prior level of performance, safely and for the long term. Alongside his physio work, Dan recently joined Fire & Rescue NSW, balancing life as a firefighter with his work in the clinic.
-
Daniel didn't come to physio and rehab through study alone. He grew up playing representative baseball and AFL, and now chases his handicap down on the golf course whenever he gets the chance, so he knows exactly what it feels like to want to get back out there. He's also ruptured his own Achilles tendon twice, and been through the long, unglamorous process of rebuilding from the ground up, both times.
That experience shaped how he treats. He knows rehab isn't linear, that progress can feel painfully slow, and that the biggest barrier is often mental as much as physical. It's why he pairs technical, evidence-based treatment with a practitioner's instinct for when to push and when to hold back.
His philosophy comes down to a few things:
Rehab should build you back stronger, not just back to where you started.
Progress isn't always visible week to week, and that's normal.
A good practitioner pushes you through the hard parts, and supports you gently through the rest.
Getting back to sport safely matters more than getting back fast.
Daniel brings that same approach to every client at The Edge, whether you're recovering from surgery, working through a stubborn injury, or just trying to move better day to day.

sports & paediatric nutrition
Imogen Barrett is an Accredited Practising Dietitian (APD) and Accredited Sports Dietitian at The Edge Health Collective. She holds a Bachelor of Nutrition & Dietetics (Honours) from the University of Wollongong, with particular interest in sports nutrition for young athletes, paediatric feeding therapy, and nutrition support & education for people living with a disability.
Imogen works closely with high performance sporting teams, delivering education sessions and hands-on cooking and meal-prep workshops, setting up fuelling and recovery support for athletes, and providing on-site support through injury recovery and return-to-play. She also supports clients through infant and childhood nutrition, feeding therapy (AEIOU trained), sustainable weight loss, chronic disease management, and care for neurodiverse clients.
-
Growing up, sport was a huge part of Imogen's life. Between playing netball and training as a synchronised ice skater, often multiple days a week, she knew first-hand what it meant to juggle school, training, and everyday life while trying to perform at her best. It was through that experience that she first noticed how much of an impact food had on her energy, recovery, and how she felt both on and off the ice.
That personal experience is what led her to a career in sports dietetics. She wanted to give young athletes the knowledge and support she'd needed herself, helping them fuel their training without it feeling complicated or overwhelming. During university, she completed internships with the Cronulla Sharks and Penrith Panthers NRL teams, gaining hands-on experience in high performance sporting environments early in her career.
Imogen's approach is built around one core belief: nutrition should feel practical, individualised, and sustainable, not restrictive or overwhelming. She brings a friendly, practical approach to every client, making sure they feel supported, understood, and equipped with strategies that genuinely fit their lifestyle.
